Never Rarely Sometimes Always [2020]

"I took a test..."

Perfectly banal, Never Rarely Sometimes Always tells the story of two 17-year old girls from Pennsylvania seeking an abortion in the Big Apple. Never dramatic or even vaguely inflammatory, Never Rarely calmly depicts the dangers of restrictive politics regarding women's health and the selfish attitudes that surround them.

Never Rarely drives a perfectly boring story, showcasing how these proceedings are handled without fanfare, placation, or hyperbole while gracefully taking us by the hand to join in on Autumn and Skylar's emotional journey to correct a mistake.

This film will speak to each viewer differently because of it's noncombative stance around the event it depicts. Some will be torn asunder because of their own experiences, some will be driven to rage because of political or religious prejudices, and some... simply will be. This film isn't exciting, nor should it be. This film isn't tragic, nor should it be expected to be. This film isn't invigorating or motivating, it simply... is. Never Rarely Sometimes Always is exactly what it needed to be, when it needed to be it.

"I want to make sure that you're safe."
