The Wind [2018]
"You gotta keep your wits about you. Can you do that?"
With some interesting shots set amid a mid-west backdrop, The Wind delivers a pretty banal story wrapped up in some fun jump scares and a classically entertaining horror score to match. Check it out for a background watch, but don't spend the time to gather people around the fire and focus in. I hope director Emma Tammi and writer Teresa Sutherland continue to make projects, and specifically make them together, because there is certainly some very good potential here.
All in all, The Wind feels like a high quality film school project that I would love to see mature into a deeper and more complex puzzle.
"This land... there's something wrong with it."
