Hunt for the Wilderpeople [2016]

"So happy we found you buddy. Sorry it took so long.
-- Me too."

Hunt for the Wilderpeople is a fun little adventure comedy from director Taika Waititi. Accompanied by very fun editing and beautiful cinematography, we're taken into the New Zealand brush as Ricky Baker searches for who he wants to be after a tumultuous run through the foster care system.

I liked this movie, but didn't love it. The funny bits were quite funny and it was fun to see Sam Neill in something again, but the middle dragged and the ending wasn't quite as poignant as I would have liked. Fun, but not necessarily moving, Hunt for the Wilderpeople is one that I softly recommend but won't be watching again.

"We didn't choose the skux life...
-- The skux life chose us."
